ACCIONA Agua certified as a Siemens EPC Partner for the Water & Wastewater Industry

05/17/2018

• ACCIONA Agua will contribute its experience of automation systems and water cycle processes to SIEMENS through to this alliance.
• ACCIONA Agua will be the first water company gaining this certificate

ACCIONA Agua has become part of the select club of qualified partners of SIEMENS, through the certificate of Partnership for the Water & Wastewater Industry that has been granted to ACCIONA Agua during the IFAT Exhibition, which is being held in Munich from May the 14th to the 18th.

This certificate confirms that ACCIONA Agua is committed to the most advanced technologies and engineering tools, which give it a key and privileged role in the deployment of systems and implementation of complete automation solutions, providing all the possible knowledge in the programming techniques of processes.

The experience gained from numerous projects carried out in recent years, combined with the completed skills training and evaluation process, have enabled ACCIONA Agua to become a leader in the field of industrial process automation, contributing complementary experience and knowledge in the water sector.

Both companies are automating some of the most important water treatment plants in the world built by ACCIONA Agua. For example, the largest treatment plant in Africa, the Gabal El Asfar wastewater plant, which consists of a top-performing Simatic PCS7 process control system for industrial automation development; or the Oum Mazza drinking water plant in Morocco, which was developed from a virtual clone to minimize errors and optimize development to save commissioning time. At the Ibarra wastewater plant in Ecuador, the Simatic PCS7 system allows 80% of the plant to be started up remotely.

“This agreement represents another step in ACCIONA Agua’s strategy to become an advanced technology partner and to continue developing innovative projects with Siemens, positioning the ACCIONA Agua brand at the highest and most competitive technological level”, said Alejandro Beivide, Automation & Control Manager at ACCIONA Agua

“ACCIONA Agua has demonstrated expert knowledge in the water treatment processes in implementing the Siemens Water Portfolio at the highest technological level. In particular, it has gained a high level of experience in implementing the Siemens automation and process instrument portfolio. Our collaboration experience has been fruitful and engaging and encourages us to build on this partnership in the future”, said Markus Lade, Head of Water and Wastewater at Siemens.

ACCIONA Agua is strengthening its commitment to technological development, focused on value generation and the search for efficient and competitive solutions based on innovation in the complete water cycle, from the design of plants and projects through to their long-term operation across every discipline – production, control, reporting, processes and safety.

Thanks to the partnership between ACCIONA Agua and Siemens, some programming designs and systems have been developed to allow them to be competitive and efficient in the partnership between both companies from engineering planning to operation and maintenance
