ACCIONA's Re_cyclable seeded paper Christmas card turns into a rosemary bush
ACCIONA has sent out a total 26,000 Balia Foundation Christmas cards with a surprise: put the Re_cyclable card into a plant pot… and you get a crop of aromatic herbs.
ACCIONA has sent out 26,000 Christmas cards to clients, suppliers, collaborators and friends…with a special surprise. The cards are made form hand-made, Re_cyclable paper containing embedded rosemary seeds, and if the card is planted, a rosemary bush will grow.
ACCIONA came up with the idea with Fundación Balia –the not-for-profit organization selected this year to design and produce the greetings cards – in support of the organization's charity work with children and youngsters at risk of social exclusion.
The cards, which encourage you to use this very special time of the year to be Re_born, were designed by José Sánchez and are printed on a Re_cyclable, cotton-content seeded paper. As well as the special Xmas message, the cards come with instructions on how to Re_use the card and grow the aromatic herb it contains.
Founded in 2001, Fundación Balia is a not-for-profit non-denominational organization providing support for children and young people at risk.
Its mission is to foster the social inclusion of underprivileged children and youngsters. The organization is to be found in socially deprived areas across Spain with a large immigrant population. It also carries out its work among the poorer communities in other countries through special working arrangements with similar local organizations.
Fundación Balia fosters and carries out a number of detailed educational projects aimed at avoiding parental abandonment and social isolation; tackling educational failure and encouraging education in values; offering sets of rules for behavior that can be internalized and which allow children and teenagers to develop into socially integrated adults.
