ACCIONA Agua has won awards from the renowned magazine Global Water Intelligence (GWI). It is one of the most prestigious awards in the water sector in the world.

• Global Water Intelligence 2010

  ACCIONA Agua has been named World Water Company of the Year by Global Water Intelligence magazine, the sector's most prestigious publication. The distinction recognizes ACCIONA Agua as the company that made the most important contribution towards the sector's international development in 2009; it also comes as recognition of ACCIONA's strategy in this activity.

   

• Global Water Intelligence 2009

  The desalination plant owned by Thames Water and which Acciona has constructed jointly with Interserve by the Thames River Estuary, was voted the Most Sustainable Project at the Annual Ceremony of the Global Water Intelligence (GWI) which took place in Zurich. The award is given to the project or company showing the best social, environmental and financial contribution of 2008.

   

• Global Water Intelligence 2008

  In this edition, ACCIONA Agua was the only Spanish company nominated for these awards. The desalination plant in Tampa, in the state of Florida (United States), launched in January by ACCIONA Agua and its partner American Water, was awarded as the best of the year in recognition of the most representative technological advancement in the desalination industry in 2007.

• Global Water Intelligence 2007

  In the 2007 edition, ACCIONA Agua was selected as the Best Desalination Company. In this category, the accolade was awarded to the desalination company that had made the greatest contribution to the desalination industry in 2006. Similarly, the desalination plant of Torrevieja won the Silver Prize in the Best Desalination Project category of the year and the desalination plant of Cartagena (phases I and II) was also awarded the Silver Prize in the Best Desalination Plant of the year.
